This site covers dedicated water pressure reducing valve procurement. Steam and hydraulic-oil synonyms belong in the same family only when you name the fluid and the compatibility evidence you will accept. Adjacent pumps, boilers or hydraulic power units are a separate brief. Read why inlet variation belongs on the RFQ before treating pipe size as capacity.
A water pressure reducing valve sized for a potable header does not automatically cover steam reduction or hydraulic-oil branch pressure. Body, trim and seals must be restated against the fluid and temperature. When you later add a steam pressure reducing valve or a hydraulic pressure reducing valve, keep those as labelled options instead of mixing duties on one drawing. Strainers, sensing lines and downstream relief or expansion devices may need cleaning or replacement when the fluid or set pressure changes. Ask which of those items sit inside the quoted station and which remain buyer-furnished. Changeover of setpoint springs or pilots is a quote item, not an implied field kit.
First good output here means downstream pressure at agreed flow points, not a marketing water-saving percentage. Record upstream and downstream gauges at low, normal and peak flow. The covered scope is a reducing valve and, if you request it, the station items that must travel with that valve: strainer, sensing line, gauges and downstream protection. Whole-plant piping, civil work and unrelated rotating equipment stay outside unless added as separate lines. Read steam as a station duty when the brief is steam rather than water.
